Active icefall and rockfall in Avalanche Gulch
Steady icefall throughout the day in upper Avalanche Gulch. Some rockfall occurred as well. Most notably, a large rock tumbled down to 8,500ft from high on Casaval Ridge. Skiing and riding conditions are firm, but good between 10,500-8,000ft. No signs of wind slabs or active wind loading.
Skies were clear and sunny in the morning. By early afternoon, thin cloud cover moved in with moderate south winds.
