Despite the warm temperatures, a good melt-freeze cycle has begun. Coverage is getting thin below treeline. Snow surfaces were variable and firm in Avalanche Gulch yesterday. Southerly slopes below 9,500 ft softened by the middle of the day and made for pretty good corning skiing all the way back to Bunny Flat. No avalanches or signs of instability were observed. No active rime icefall was seen either.
