Trailhead Status Update
General Conditions
Open Trailheads:
Bunny Flat, Northgate, and Clear Creek Trailheads are OPEN. These trailheads have summit passes, wilderness permits and packout bags available. These items are also available at the Mt. Shasta and McCloud Ranger Stations. Northgate and Clear Creek Trailheads involve driving on dirt roads which can be rough at times. The road to Bunny Flat is paved.
Closed Trailheads:
Brewer Creek- One can drive to within 2.3 miles of the trailhead as of Wednesday, May 16. This is 500ft from a sharp left turn (see map). Northwest of the turn is Gravel Creek which provides excellent access to the Hotlum Hilton Camp and the Hotlum Glacier. To access the Hotlum-Wintun Ridge, hike Southwest. Please pickup your required Summit Pass, Wilderness Permit, and packout bag at a Ranger Station or open trailhead.
Old Ski Bowl- The gate at Bunny Flat is closed. The road to the Old Ski Bowl is still snow covered. Typically, the earliest the gate is opened is JULY 1.
Sand Flat- Closed but should be open soon.
Bolam/Whitney Falls- TBD.
