Snow Depth: 31 inches (79 cm)

Wind: Calm and variable

Notes:  No sign of avalanche danger. Weather station repaired! Spring-like conditions in the Castle area. Sunny aspects with corn snow and Manzanita slalom. Shady aspects variable with breakable crust in some areas. Shallow snowpack, bare ground showing around tree wells. Lake is frozen albeit mushy.  A couple large, remaining cornices along ridgeline of Middle Peak. Old avalanche debris along backside of lake below Middle Peak. Road is free and clear of snow, graveled and in good shape. Remember, Castle Lake area is day use only. Restrooms are open.
