Snowpack Observations

Details

Drove up into Wagon Bowl below Mt. Eddy. A dead tree near our weather station threatened taking out the entire station. The tree was fell to the ground without incident. The Mt. Eddy weather station sits in Wagon Bowl below the Eddy summit at an elevation of 6,660 feet. The station provides wind, temp and snow depth data. Wind speeds are often low from this station as it sits down low in the bowl. 

About 2-3 inches of snow is on the ground in Wagon bowl, with plenty of bare ground showing too, just depends on aspect. A skiff of barely measurable snow was observed with frosted trees. There is no usable snowpack in the Eddies, but this next storm beginning on 12.11.21 will change that.
