From March 25^th to April 11^th, the Shasta-McCloud Management Unit, of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, completed the third snow survey of 2023. April numbers show snowpack above historic averages, with the McCloud River watershed nearly doubling its average water content.

The March 2023 surveys proved very difficult, with weather and access impeding operations. A March survey report was not issued.

The Deadfall Lakes course is surveyed for the Trinity River watershed. The Parks and Sweetwater courses are surveyed for the Shasta River watershed.
