A popular day at Castle Lake. A few photos shared here by local shredders. Some of the December 28th freezing fog crust was encountered, variable in thickness and location. Cold, sheltered areas seem to be the most crust-free. Moderate W-NW wind was felt, but cornice and wind slab problems were not observed. The sun was out, but temperatures stayed below 30 F all day. A bit of a sun crust is possible tomorrow. Middle and Right Peak had many tracks.
