Several, medium to large cornice formations were observed in the Castle Lake area today. Photos show cornices on Middle Peak. Several cornices had failed during the recent storm events leaving debris on slopes below. Very unstable, fractured cornices exist, and shooting cracks extending back onto ridgeline were observed.
