Snow on the ground [as of 12.11.20] from our one and only storm for the season that blew in on November 17th:
Old Ski Bowl, treeline on Mount Shasta - 12 inches
Castle Lake - 2 inches
Eddies - 8 inches
East side/Ash Creek Butte - 14 inches
You've heard it a bunch already...early season conditions is still the mode of operation around these parts. Watch for rocks! Last night [Dec. 11th/12th], a trace to 2 inches of new snow fell over the area. It is still going to take several feet of snow for us to level up to a proper winter snowpack. Snow surfaces are variable. More rocks than snow exists. A little snow from last night will help freshen things up, but overall, Mother Nature needs to crank the snow machine knob!
