Sunny days and cold nights have brought a glossy sheen to the snowpack, though cool breezes were keeping snow surfaces mostly firm today. With the right timing, you may have found soft moist snow beginning to resemble corn, particularly on slopes approaching 30 degrees and steeper that are exposed to full sun. Wind slabs have settled into the overall snowpack which is looking more like one consolidated layer. Rocks abound, but can easily be avoided with careful route selection.
