Details

Conditions at Castle Lake:

  • Southerly winds blowing 20 - 30 mi/hr and transporting snow.
  • Snow drifts forming at lake level up to 24 inches.
  • Snow falling at 1 in/hr.
  • Height of new snow: 2-3 in.
  • Height of snow: 48 in.
  • Visibility: 1/4 mile.
  • Drifting snow sits atop widespread breakable ice layer about 1/2 inch thick (see picture).
  • Road open and plowed.
